Industrial Powers

Arrow in swimwear: This one was even more fun to draw than the formalwear pic. Took me about a third as long to do. I didn't originally intend to make her quite so buff, but I've never drawn her skinny, either. At the same time, I think it fits, and won't aplologise for it. Lamentably, nobody seems to appreciate girls who can kick their butts. She's dead last in the contest as I write this. --Kari |
Kari wanted me to put up a link to the forum where the contest is taking place. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it. I don't really spend all that much time on the forums myself. I also didn't have any real part in the creation of these contest entries other than to give a quick answer to one or two of the Happy Little Cactus questions. On the subject of the "beefy" looking Arrow, I have a few thoughts. It is not so much our readers who don't like her as a strong female. Our readers know that we target an older demographic who might actually expect a woman in the police force to do the same job as a man. . . Or perhaps they just like to look at a healthy woman. This is a little pet peave of mine. I think that it is just as sexist to say, "women can do the same jobs as men, but shouldn't be held to the same standards," as it is to say "Women can't do the same jobs as men." For the record Arrow Flame earns less money than Pizza Guy because he's been on the force longer. He earns less money than Emilia. --Crazy Writer Guy |
